The BackChat: 
After their extended hiatus, all girl, soul pop group - The BackChat - are back at it with a bunch of new tunes and a bigger sound. 
Their songs have been described as funky and sassy - a quirky take on pop music. 
Come along to the Thirsty Dog to hear it all live as they gear up to step into the studio at the end of 2018. 

Holly Afoa: 
Lead soul singer from popular Auckland band, “Round Buddah”, Holly Afoa has made a name for herself on the scene with her silky voice and sassy lyrics. 
She is on the brink of releasing her debut solo project after collaborating with a number of local artists. 
She will be joined by guitarist and singer, Michael Gianan. 

Jessy & The Volunteers: 
Hot off the release of their debut single “Nightwatch”, Jessy & The Volunteers have been making waves with their blues infused, sexy soul sound. 
With 20 years of various singing and songwriting experience, ranging from musical theatre to old school blues and solo traveling musical journeys, Jessy has recently moved to Auckland and started this band with a bunch of rad young lads.

Nick Brightwell is a virtuoso Finger-style guitarist presenting instrumental music on the acoustic guitar "MLT NZ Gold Guitar Awards 2018 - Instrumental Winner", Nick's performance is a joy to experience.
The Finger-style guitar is genre is made of music from around the world, including a blend of blues, Celtic, country are all part represented with musical elements specific to the guitar itself. Nick’s performance is an exploration of what the guitar can do and presentation of well-loved music.

Despite the indifference of mainstream media in New Zealand, Harvey is an irrepressible character who just keeps doing it.
Through his various bands an now performing mainly as an acoustic duo, Gary has become known for his strong blues roots, but after a lifetime in the business his music has become very eclectic.
His bands have always had a strong presence in the live music scene, with numerous festivals, tours and TV appearances, he remains active recording and producing new material the latest of which he will feature in the show.
The last release with the Gary Harvey Band, Ghost Dance has been critically acclaimed and is available on iTunes and Spotify. Currently For What Its Worth remains his most commercially successful album.

An internationally recognised vocalist, collaborator & songwriter, born in Gisborne of Ngati Porou descent, Sandy Mill has worked with The Basement Jaxx, Neil Finn, Pitch Black, Placebo and Flood. Sandy still performs with SJD, and fronts multinational band New Telepathics. 

Sandy’s band features some of NZ’s finest musicians, some calling it a ‘super group’ with Dianne Swann, Ben King, Milan Borich and Jol Mulholland. Sandy and band recently supported legendary soul artist PP Arnold at Auckland's Powerstation. 

Sandy Mill has a remix package due out soon on her label She’s Boss music, and is writing and recording new material. It's clear this ‘post-punk soul’ artist means business.
